The Rockwill RVR-1 is a fully automated, maintenance-free single-phase step voltage regulator designed for reliable voltage regulation in 11 kV to 33 kV distribution networks. Built as an oil-immersed autotransformer with an integrated on-load tap changer (OLTC), it delivers ±10% regulation across 32 steps (approximately 0.625% per step) to maintain stable output voltage under varying load and source conditions.
A microprocessor-based controller continuously monitors load-side voltage and current through internal potential and current transformers, automatically adjusting tap positions to keep line voltage within the programmed target range. This closed-loop control compensates for voltage drops on long feeders, load fluctuations, and source-side instability common in weak or extended distribution systems.
The regulator features an IP-rated hermetically sealed tank that eliminates moisture ingress and oil oxidation, supporting long-term maintenance-free operation in outdoor environments. The sealed design withstands severe weather, corrosion, and temperature extremes without requiring periodic inspection or oil replacement.
Available in multiple voltage ratings between 11 kV and 33 kV, the RVR-1 supports pole-mounted, pad-mounted, or substation installation, making it adaptable to diverse distribution network architectures.
