Description

The RHB type Live tank SF6 gas circuit breaker is specifically designed for outdoor high - voltage environments. Utilizing self - blast arc - extinguishing technology and taking advantage of the excellent insulating and arc - extinguishing properties of SF₆ gas。

Q: Where is the arc extinguishing chamber located in a live tank breaker versus a dead tank breaker?
A:

In a live tank breaker, the arc chamber is mounted at the top or side of the column, exposed to ambient air. In a dead tank breaker, the arc chamber is placed inside the metal tank, fully sealed.

Q: What is the fundamental difference between a vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) and an SF₆ circuit breaker?
A:

The core difference is the arc-extinguishing medium. A VCB uses a high vacuum inside a sealed ceramic or glass envelope — the vacuum rapidly diffuses ions and metal vapor after current zero, achieving arc extinction in <10 ms.
